How do you calculate win rate?

Divide the deals you won by the deals that reached a decision, won plus lost. 30 won and 70 lost is 30 ÷ 100 = 30%. Some teams also divide by every deal in the period, open ones included, which gives a lower close rate: with 50 still open, the same 30 wins are 20% of 150. This page shows both so you can match the way your team reports it.

What is a good win rate in sales?

It depends heavily on what you sell, how qualified a deal must be before it enters the pipeline, and whether you count open or no-decision deals. A rate that is healthy for one team can be low for another. The most useful comparison is your own rate over time and across reps, segments or deal sources, measured the same way each time.

What is the difference between win rate and close rate?

Teams use the two names loosely. Here, win rate counts only deals that closed either way, and close rate (all deals) also counts the ones still open. Open deals lower the second number until they are decided, so compare like with like: the same definition, the same period, the same kind of deal.

What is a higher win rate worth?

Add your average deal value and move the slider. On the same number of closed deals, each extra point of win rate is one more win per hundred decisions. With 100 closed deals at 10,000 each, five more points is five more wins, or 50,000. The quickest way to find those points is to know why deals are won and lost, which starts with good notes from the calls.
