Gong Pricing: What It Costs and Cheaper Options

Marcus manages 12 reps at a building-products distributor. His VP wants a number for Gong by Friday, so he opens Gong's pricing page. There's no number on it, only a form.

(Marcus is a composite, not a real customer.)

Where does a budget figure come from when the vendor won't print one?

You already know enterprise software rarely shows a price tag. This guide gets you as close to a real Gong pricing number as public sources allow. You'll see exactly what gong.io says today, the per-seat figures buyers report, the five contract terms in Gong's own paperwork that change the bill, and a year-one estimate for teams of 10, 25 and 60.

Every Gong fact below was checked on Gong's own pages on 2026-10-31. Every dollar figure for Gong comes from a named, dated outside source and is marked reported, because Gong doesn't publish one.

One disclosure: ParrotNotes publishes this blog, and it gets one section near the end, for teams that sell in person. If that's your team, try ParrotNotes free on your next customer meeting while you wait for Gong's quote.

Gong pricing at a glance

Gong doesn't publish list prices. As of October 2026, its pricing page says three things about cost, word for word:

  • "Licenses are priced per user"
  • "There is a platform fee based on the number of users supported"
  • "You can integrate your existing tech stack for free."

Then it asks "How big is your team?" (1-50, 51-1,000, 1,001-9,999 or 10,000+) and offers to "prepare a customized proposal." There are no dollar figures, plan names or seat minimums on the page.

Official column: gong.io/pricing, read 2026-10-31. Reported column: Vendr's Gong pricing page, last updated March 2026, read 2026-10-31.

So the honest short answer to "how much does Gong cost?" is: a per-user license, plus a platform fee, priced by quote. The reported median is about $55,000 a year.

What Gong's own pages say about pricing

The pricing page is short, but Gong publishes more about how it sells in four other places. Read together, they explain why the quote form exists.

Seats are per product, not one login

Gong's help article Check your seats and permissions says: "Seats represent the Gong products and applications you are licensed to use." The seats you hold "determine which application areas are available."

In plain terms, a user's seat is tied to the products their company bought. A rep with a conversation intelligence seat doesn't automatically get every other Gong app.

The AWS Marketplace listing shows the product lines

Gong.io sells through AWS Marketplace. On 2026-10-31 the listing showed three priced dimensions:

  1. Conversation Intelligence: capturing and understanding customer interactions

  2. Engage: Gong Engage, AI-driven sales automation and task prioritization

  3. Forecast: Gong Forecast, AI-driven forecasting

Each line shows $100,000.00 per 12 months and the label "(Available Through Private Offer Only)." That label is the point. The figure isn't what a buyer pays; the real price is set in a private offer Gong sends to that buyer. The listing also offers 12-, 24- and 36-month contracts and says fees are "non-cancellable and non-refundable except as required by law."

Implementation is sold per product too

Gong's Professional Services & Education Offerings page (last updated January 2025) lists implementation packages by product: Gong Essentials, Professional and Advanced; Engage Essentials, Essentials Plus and Professional; Forecast Essentials and Professional. It also lists data migration and training.

The page gives no prices. It says the services are "non-refundable," must be used within the subscription term, and that your Order Form decides what you actually get. Ask which implementation package is in your quote, and whether it's priced separately.

Reported Gong pricing per user

Because Gong doesn't publish prices, the most useful public numbers come from Vendr, a software buying marketplace that publishes price ranges from the purchases it tracks. Its Gong page, last updated March 2026, reports:

Vendr figure (reported, not official)Value
Median annual contract$55,359, from 1,151 purchases
Lowest and highest tracked contract$11,530 to $204,050 a year
Mid-market and enterprise, per seat$1,200 to $2,400 a year
Standard tier, 25 to 75 seats, 1-year$1,400 to $2,000 per seat a year
Advanced tier, 50 to 150 seats$1,800 to $2,600 per seat a year
Enterprise, 100+ seats$1,200 to $1,800 per seat a year
Small teams, 10 to 25 seats, standard tier, 1-year$1,600 to $2,400 per seat a year
Platform or onboarding fee"Some contracts include" one; no figure

Source: vendr.com/marketplace/gong, updated March 2026, read 2026-10-31.

Two lines matter most for a small team. Vendr says "Smaller teams (10–25 seats) often see higher per-seat rates." And smaller teams get smaller discounts: 15% to 25%, against 30% to 40% for 100 seats or more.

What about the platform fee?

Gong confirms the fee exists. Vendr confirms some contracts include it. Neither gives a number.

Several competitor blogs quote platform-fee ranges, but none we found names a dated, checkable source, so we've left those figures out. Ask for the platform fee as its own line on your quote.

That's also why Gong pricing per user can mislead. A $1,600 seat sounds like $133 a month, but the platform fee is spread across fewer people on a small team.

The contract terms that move a Gong bill

Price per seat is only half the cost. Gong's Terms and Conditions, last updated June 2026, set the other half. These five clauses are the ones to read before you sign; your own Order Form can override them, so check it too.

  1. Automatic renewal. Section 3.3: subscriptions "will automatically renew for additional one-year periods" unless either side gives written notice.

  2. A 60-day notice window. That notice has to arrive "at least 60 days before the end of the relevant subscription term." Miss it and you've bought another year.

  3. Re-pricing if you shrink. A cut in seats or contract length "will result in re-pricing at renewal without regard to the prior term's per-unit pricing." Your per-seat discount isn't protected if you buy less.

  4. Promotions end at list. "Promotional or one-time priced subscriptions" renew "at Gong's applicable list price in effect at the time."

  5. No refunds, and add-ons are prorated. Section 3.4: "Payment obligations are noncancelable and fees are non-refundable," due within 30 days of the Order Form, with a 1.0% monthly late charge. Section 3.1 lets you add services mid-term at your Order Form pricing, prorated to end on the same date.

Here's how clause 3 plays out. Lena, a fictional RevOps lead, signed 40 seats at a negotiated rate two years ago. Hiring slowed, and she wants 30 seats at renewal. Under the re-pricing clause, those 30 seats are quoted fresh, not at last year's per-seat rate, so her bill may fall by less than a quarter.

Her fix is timing. She puts the renewal date minus 60 days in her calendar on signing day, and starts the conversation 90 days out, while she can still give notice.

What Gong could cost your team: a worked estimate

Here's a year-one license estimate for three team sizes, using only Vendr's published per-seat ranges. It's a planning range for your budget conversation, not a quote.

TeamVendr range used (reported)Licenses, year onePlus
10 repsSmall teams, standard tier, 1-year: $1,600 to $2,400 per seat$16,000 to $24,000Platform fee, implementation if quoted separately
25 repsStandard tier, 25 to 75 seats, 1-year: $1,400 to $2,000 per seat$35,000 to $50,000Platform fee, implementation if quoted separately
60 repsStandard tier, 25 to 75 seats: $1,400 to $2,000; Advanced tier, 50 to 150 seats: $1,800 to $2,600$84,000 to $120,000 (Standard) or $108,000 to $156,000 (Advanced)Platform fee, Engage or Forecast seats if added

Arithmetic: seats × Vendr's per-seat range. Vendr figures updated March 2026. Gong publishes none of these numbers.

Three checks keep the estimate honest:

  • The floor is real. Vendr's lowest tracked Gong contract was $11,530 a year, so very small teams shouldn't budget much below that.
  • The median sits in the middle. $55,359 is between the 25-rep and 60-rep rows, which fits a mid-market buyer.
  • Year two isn't year one. Use the renewal clauses above to model it: same seats at the same price, or a re-quote if you cut.

Back to Marcus. His 12 reps fall in Vendr's 10-to-25-seat band: 12 × $1,600 to $2,400 is $19,200 to $28,800 in licenses before any platform fee. That's the range he gives his VP, with one line attached: "Gong will quote the platform fee separately."

How to get a lower Gong quote

Vendr's page lists the levers that move Gong pricing down. These are reported patterns from its deals, not Gong policy:

  • Expect room in the first quote. Vendr says initial quotes typically run 20% to 40% above final negotiated pricing.
  • Weigh a multi-year term. Vendr reports 2- to 3-year terms run 15% to 30% lower per year than 1-year terms. Set that against the auto-renewal and re-pricing clauses before you commit.
  • Time it. Vendr reports 10% to 20% extra at quarter-end or year-end.
  • Run a real comparison. Vendr says competitive evaluations can bring small-team pricing down to $1,400 to $2,000 per seat.

Then ask Gong's rep five questions, in writing:

  1. What is the platform fee, as its own line?

  2. Which products do my seats cover, and which are add-ons?

  3. Is implementation included, and which package?

  4. What is the renewal price if seat count stays the same?

  5. What happens to the per-seat price if we drop seats at renewal?

Cheaper options than Gong

Gong is a full revenue platform: conversation intelligence, deal boards, forecasting and engagement. If you'll use all of it, the price can make sense. If you mainly need calls recorded, summarized and followed up, plenty of tools publish their prices.

Our Gong alternatives guide compares seven of them for small teams, with a six-rep cost worksheet. If you're also pricing Gong's closest rival, Chorus alternatives covers the conversation intelligence tools sold without a long contract.

Two published prices give a sense of the gap, both read 2026-10-31:

Tool and planPublished price10 users, one year (annual billing)
GongNot published$16,000 to $24,000 reported, plus platform fee
Otter.ai Business$19.99 a user a month annually ($30 monthly)$2,398.80
ParrotNotes Pro$14.99 a month annually ($19.99 monthly)$1,798.80

Otter from otter.ai/pricing; ParrotNotes from parrotnotes.app/pricing; Gong range from Vendr (reported).

That gap isn't like for like. Gong does forecasting and team-wide deal analytics that a notetaker doesn't. For more on what coaching tools do, see our guide to sales coaching software. For Otter's plans in detail, see Otter.ai pricing.

Where ParrotNotes fits: teams that sell in the room

Gong is built around calls that run through video and dialers. Its help center says in-person recordings in the mobile app are audio only, and that recording on mobile needs the "Manually schedule and upload" permission in the user's profile.

Now picture Ana, a fictional rep selling flooring to contractors. She makes four site visits a day, with no meeting link at any of them. After each one she needs notes, next steps and a follow-up email before the next drive.

ParrotNotes is built for that day. Facts from parrotnotes.app/pricing on 2026-10-31:

  • Free ($0): 100 minutes of recording a month, up to 30 minutes per recording, and AI insights on 5 recordings a month
  • Pro ($19.99 a month, or $14.99 a month billed annually): 3,000 minutes a month, recordings up to 3 hours, every AI feature on every recording, the BANT, MEDDIC and SPIN sales frameworks, speaker identification and transcription in 99+ languages with translation, on iPhone, Android and Mac

There's no bot, no platform fee and no seat minimum. Each rep signs up on their own. When Ana stops recording, she gets a transcript, a summary, the action items and a drafted follow-up email. Our sales call recording software guide covers more in-person options.

The bottom line on Gong pricing

Gong pricing comes down to four things:

  • No list price. Gong prices per user plus a platform fee, by quote
  • Reported range. Vendr reports $1,200 to $2,400 per seat a year for mid-market and enterprise, and a $55,359 median contract
  • Small teams pay more per seat. Vendr puts 10 to 25 seats at $1,600 to $2,400, and the lowest tracked contract at $11,530
  • The contract moves the bill. One-year auto-renewal, a 60-day notice window and re-pricing if you shrink

Before the demo, take the five questions above and ask for the platform fee in writing. Put the notice date in your calendar the day you sign. Reported Gong pricing moves, so re-check Vendr's page before you negotiate.

If your reps' most important conversations happen in person, run a two-week test alongside Gong's quote. Download ParrotNotes free and see what a phone on the table gives you before you commit to a year.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Gong cost?

Gong doesn't publish prices. Its pricing page says licenses are "priced per user" plus "a platform fee based on the number of users supported." Vendr, a software buying marketplace, reports a median contract of $55,359 a year from 1,151 purchases (updated March 2026). Treat it as an estimate and get a quote for your team size.

What is Gong's price per user?

Gong doesn't state one. Vendr reports $1,200 to $2,400 per seat a year for mid-market and enterprise buyers, and $1,600 to $2,400 for small teams of 10 to 25 seats on a 1-year standard contract. These are reported figures from Vendr's deal data, not Gong's official prices, and they exclude the platform fee.

Does Gong charge a platform fee?

Yes. Gong's pricing page says "There is a platform fee based on the number of users supported." Gong doesn't publish the amount, and Vendr only says some contracts include a platform or onboarding fee. Ask for it as a separate line on your quote.

Can I cancel Gong before my contract ends?

Gong's Terms and Conditions (June 2026) say payment obligations are noncancelable and fees non-refundable. Subscriptions renew automatically for one-year periods unless either side gives written notice at least 60 days before the term ends. Your Order Form can change these terms, so check it.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Gong?

Yes, if you don't need forecasting and team-wide deal analytics. Tools such as Otter.ai publish per-user prices, and ParrotNotes Pro is $14.99 a month billed annually for reps who meet customers in person, with no platform fee or seat minimum. Our Gong alternatives guide compares seven options.
