Dana runs a 10-rep team selling industrial fasteners and fittings to plants across the Midwest. In October, her ZoomInfo account manager emailed to "start the renewal conversation" for Chorus. She opened the dashboard to see what she'd be renewing.
Six reps had recorded something in the last 30 days. Four hadn't recorded anything since spring, because most of their customer meetings happen on plant floors, not on Zoom.
That's the moment most people start looking for a Chorus alternative. Chorus is a capable conversation intelligence platform, and plenty of teams should keep it. But it's sold by quote, on terms you agree with a ZoomInfo sales rep. If your renewal date is coming up, you have a short window to decide.
The short answer: if you live inside ZoomInfo and your calls run through Zoom and a dialer, Chorus or Gong is still the like-for-like choice. If you want published per-seat prices and monthly billing, look at Fireflies, Otter, Fathom or Avoma. If your reps meet customers in person, a phone-first recorder like ParrotNotes covers the meetings a video-first platform never hears.
This guide covers what Chorus is today and how it's sold, who should stay on it, seven Chorus AI alternatives in three groups, a 10-seat cost table, and a switch plan timed to your renewal notice date. Every fact comes from the vendor's own site, checked on October 30, 2026.

What Chorus by ZoomInfo is today, and how it's sold
ZoomInfo bought Chorus.ai in July 2021 for about $575 million, as SiliconANGLE reported at the time. Today the old chorus.ai domain simply points to ZoomInfo's Chorus product page.
That page describes Chorus as conversation intelligence that helps teams "capture and analyze customer calls, meetings, and emails." It lists four jobs:
- Coaching: "Identify winning behaviors that uplevel team skills," with a pitch around faster ramp for new hires.
- Deal intelligence: capture contacts and conversations and sync them to your CRM.
- Market intelligence: what customers say about trends and competitors across your calls.
- Connected intelligence: ZoomInfo's contact and company data shown next to each relationship's history.
As of October 2026, the page shows no prices and doesn't mention a mobile app or recording in-person meetings.
How Chorus is priced and contracted
ZoomInfo's pricing page shows no dollar figures for any product. Chorus appears as its own section, not inside any of the Sales plans. The FAQ says pricing depends on features, number of licenses and credit usage, and that "Our sales team will work with you on payment frequency and options." In practice, you get a Chorus price by talking to ZoomInfo sales.
The contract side matters more than most Chorus alternatives lists admit. ZoomInfo's annual report to the SEC (fiscal 2021) says: "Most of our subscriptions are sold for a one-year term, though some organizations purchase a multi-year subscription plan." It adds: "While many of our subscriptions provide for automatic renewal, our customers may opt-out of automatic renewal."
So the two dates that matter are your renewal date and the notice deadline before it. That deadline is set in your order form. Third-party guides often cite 60 days, but don't rely on that number: read your own contract.
There's also a design point, and ZoomInfo makes it itself. Its buyer's guide to coaching tools, updated September 28, 2026, says "Chorus, Gong, and Salesloft were architecturally built for inside sales (always-online, VoIP and video recording) and are best suited for that motion."
Who should stay on Chorus
A fair Chorus alternative guide should say when not to switch. Stay, and negotiate, if most of these are true:
- You already pay for ZoomInfo data and your reps use it daily. Chorus shows that data next to each call, and no alternative here does.
- Your team sells by video and phone. Chorus was built for that motion, in ZoomInfo's own words.
- Someone reviews calls every week. An enablement lead or manager with blocked time gets the most from coaching and market intelligence.
- Leadership uses the deal and market views. If your CRO quotes competitor mentions from Chorus in planning meetings, that's real value.
- You're mid-way through a multi-year term. Switching tools you've already paid for rarely saves money.
If that's you, use this guide as leverage. A published price from a competitor is a useful thing to have open during a renewal call.
Chorus alternatives at a glance
The seven tools below fall into three groups. Prices are per seat, per month, from each vendor's pricing page on October 30, 2026.
| Tool | Group | Lowest plan with coaching or call analysis | Monthly billing listed? | Records in person from a phone |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gong | Platform | Not published (per user plus a platform fee) | Not stated | Yes, audio only (see our Gong alternative guide) |
| Salesloft Conversation Intelligence | Platform | Not published | Not stated | Not mentioned |
| Jiminny | Platform | Not published | Yes, on a 12-month minimum | Not mentioned |
| Avoma | Notetaker with sales tier | $19 + $29 add-on, annual | Yes | Yes, iOS and Android |
| Fireflies.ai | Notetaker with sales tier | $19 Business, annual | Yes ($29) | Yes, iOS and Android |
| Fathom | Notetaker with sales tier | $25 Business, annual | Yes ($34) | iPhone only |
| ParrotNotes | Phone-first capture | $14.99 Pro, annual | Yes ($19.99) | Yes, iPhone, Android and Mac |
Otter.ai belongs in the notetaker group too. We cover it in the cost table below.
The Chorus alternatives, in three groups
Group 1: other conversation intelligence platforms
These are the like-for-like swaps. They're strongest when calls run through video and phone systems, and all of them quote prices on request.
Gong. Gong is the platform most teams compare Chorus against. Its pricing page lists no figures. It says "Licenses are priced per user" and "There is a platform fee based on the number of users supported." Gong's help center explains how to record meetings in its mobile app: the recordings "are audio only," and a "Manually schedule and upload" permission must be enabled in each user's profile. Our Gong alternatives guide covers Gong's cost estimates and fit in detail.
Salesloft Conversation Intelligence. Salesloft's Conversation Intelligence logs, transcribes and analyzes sales calls, with the headline "Calls become next steps." Many Chorus alternatives lists still show Clari Copilot as a separate option. As of October 2026, Clari's pricing page redirects to Salesloft's site, and Salesloft's header links to both Clari Forecast and Conversations. Pricing is by conversation with sales. It fits teams that already run cadences in Salesloft.
Jiminny. Jiminny's pricing page says "Jiminny's pricing is bespoke to your team," with three plans (Capture, Scale, Grow) priced by seat type. It's direct about terms: "Our minimum contract length is 12 months, billed monthly or annually at a discounted rate," and "we don't charge a platform fee - just a one-time setup fee." There's a 14-day free trial with no credit card. The page talks about phone and Teams calls and doesn't mention in-person recording.
Group 2: meeting notetakers with a sales tier
These tools started as notetakers and added coaching, CRM sync and team libraries. They publish prices and list monthly billing, which is the closest thing to conversation intelligence without the contract.
Avoma. Avoma's pricing starts at $19 per recorder seat a month billed annually ($29 monthly) on Startup, for up to 25 seats. Coaching and AI call scoring sit in a Conversation Intelligence add-on at $29 a seat annually ($35 monthly). Viewers are free, and Avoma says there are no setup or platform fees.
The Avoma mobile app for iOS and Android records in-person meetings. Our Avoma alternatives guide covers its trade-offs.
Fireflies.ai. Fireflies pricing runs from Free to Pro at $10 a seat annually ($18 monthly) and Business at $19 annually ($29 monthly). Conversation intelligence and team analytics are on Business. The iOS and Android apps support in-person recording. If you're weighing Fireflies itself, see the Fireflies alternatives roundup.
Fathom. Fathom's pricing includes a free plan, Team at $15 a user annually ($19 monthly, minimum two users), and Business at $25 annually ($34 monthly). Business adds CRM field sync, Deal View and coaching scorecards. Fathom's iOS app captures in-person meetings, but Fathom lists no Android app.
Otter.ai. Otter's pricing lists Business at $19.99 a user a month billed annually ($30 list, monthly) with unlimited meeting minutes and up to 4 hours per conversation. The Otter Sales Notetaker is on Enterprise, at a custom price. Otter's mobile app records in person. The Otter.ai alternatives guide goes deeper.
Group 3: phone-first capture for the room
ParrotNotes. ParrotNotes records the meetings that happen across a table or on a plant floor. A rep opens the app on an iPhone, Android phone or Mac, taps record, and puts the phone down. No bot joins anything. Recording keeps going with the screen locked and works without signal; transcription and AI run once the phone is back online.
When the rep stops, ParrotNotes returns a summary, action items and a drafted follow-up email. The sales frameworks (BANT, MEDDIC, SPIN) pull qualification answers out of the conversation. On Pro, speaker identification labels who said what, and transcription covers 99+ languages with translation.
The free plan gives each rep 100 minutes a month and an AI summary on every recording. Pro is $19.99 a month, or $14.99 a month billed annually, with 3,000 minutes a month and recordings up to 3 hours. Each rep signs up on their own, so there's no platform fee, no seat minimum and no sales call.
To be clear about the limits: ParrotNotes doesn't replace Chorus's team-wide analytics, market intelligence or ZoomInfo data. It replaces the part of the job that matters most for a field rep: a clean record of the meeting and the paperwork that follows it.
Picture Marco, one of Dana's reps, walking a bottling plant's maintenance shop with the plant engineer on a Tuesday morning. With the engineer's OK, he records the 35-minute walk. Back in his truck, ParrotNotes has the summary, three action items (send the stainless fitting spec sheet, quote 400 units, book a follow-up with purchasing) and a follow-up email he edits and sends before his next stop.

What 10 seats cost for a year
Here's the table most Chorus alternatives lists skip. It prices a 10-seat team for one year on annual billing, using each tool's plan with its coaching or call analysis features. List prices from vendor pages on October 30, 2026, before tax or discounts.
| Tool and plan | Per seat, per month (annual) | 10 seats, first year |
|---|---|---|
| Chorus by ZoomInfo | Not published | Quote from ZoomInfo sales |
| Gong | Not published | Quote, plus a platform fee |
| Salesloft Conversation Intelligence | Not published | Quote |
| Jiminny | Not published | Quote, 12-month minimum, one-time setup fee |
| Avoma Startup + Conversation Intelligence | $19 + $29 = $48 | $5,760 |
| Fathom Business | $25 | $3,000 |
| Otter.ai Business | $19.99 | $2,399 |
| Fireflies.ai Business | $19 | $2,280 |
| ParrotNotes Pro | $14.99 | $1,799 |
A few things stand out. First, four of the nine options won't give you a number until you talk to sales, Chorus included. That's not a flaw, but it means you can't compare without starting conversations early.
Second, the published-price tools cluster within about $4,000 of each other for a year. Third, the right number to compare isn't the seat price. It's the cost per seat that actually records. Dana's team was paying for 10 Chorus seats and using six.
Prices change often. Treat this table as a starting budget and re-check each page before you buy.
A switch plan timed to your renewal date
Most teams that look for a Chorus alternative find out too late. The renewal email arrives, the notice deadline is three weeks away, and there's no time for a fair test. Work backward from your renewal date instead.
120 days before renewal: find the dates and the facts.
- Get your order form. Write down the renewal date, the non-renewal notice deadline, and any price increase terms.
- Pull usage from your Chorus admin view. How many seats recorded anything in the last 90 days?
- List what you actually use: coaching, deal views, market intelligence, ZoomInfo data, CRM sync.
90 days before: run two pilots.
- Pick two alternatives from the group that fits (the next section helps).
- Start free plans or trials. Avoma and Jiminny each offer 14-day trials, and Fireflies, Fathom and ParrotNotes have free plans.
- Put two reps on each tool for real customer meetings: one enthusiast and one skeptic.
Before your notice deadline: decide in writing.
- Compare the pilots on three numbers: meetings recorded, time to finish a call report, and follow-ups sent the same day.
- If you're switching, send non-renewal notice the way your order form says, and keep a copy.
- Ask your ZoomInfo account manager, in writing, how to export recordings and transcripts you want to keep, and how long you'll keep access after the term ends.
30 days before: move over.
- Connect the new tool to your CRM and calendar, update your recording consent language, and train the rest of the team.
- Export the calls you'll want for onboarding: your best discovery call, a strong demo, a won deal.
- On renewal day, remove the old recorder from meeting invites so no one is recorded by two tools.
Picture Dana again. She starts this plan in July for an October renewal. Her two pilot reps record 31 meetings in four weeks on a phone app, against 9 on video.
She sends notice in writing with weeks to spare, keeps four seats on a video-call notetaker for her inside rep and managers, and moves the field reps to a phone-first tool. The budget for the year drops, and more meetings get recorded.

How to choose a Chorus AI alternative by team situation
"We sell on Zoom and a dialer, and we want the same depth." Shortlist Gong, Salesloft and Jiminny, ask for quotes before your notice deadline, and compare contract terms as closely as price.
"We want conversation intelligence without the contract." Look at Fireflies Business, Otter Business, Fathom Business or Avoma. All four list monthly billing, so you can start small and pay for seats that record.
"Half our meetings are in person." Use a tool that records both. Fireflies, Otter and Avoma have phone apps for iOS and Android. Or pair a video notetaker for the desk with ParrotNotes for the field, and compare the total.
"Almost every meeting is face to face." Start with ParrotNotes. Reps use the phone they already carry, get a summary and a follow-up draft before the next stop, and need no bot or IT project. The sales call recording software for in-person meetings guide covers the recording side and consent in more depth.
"We sell across languages." A rep who meets customers in Spanish and writes call reports in English needs transcription and translation in one step. ParrotNotes Pro covers 99+ languages with translation.
Choosing your Chorus alternative
Chorus is a solid conversation intelligence platform for inside sales teams that already live in ZoomInfo. If that's you, stay and negotiate with a competitor's published price in hand.
If it isn't, three things decide your Chorus alternative. Where your conversations happen, whether you want a quote or a published price, and how much contract you're willing to sign. Start the switch plan 120 days before renewal, pilot two tools with real meetings, and compare cost per seat that actually records.
If most of your meetings happen across a table, start there. Download ParrotNotes free, record your next customer meeting with their OK, and read the call report before you start the car.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best Chorus alternative?
It depends on how your team sells. For inside sales teams on video and phone, Gong, Salesloft Conversation Intelligence and Jiminny are the closest swaps, all priced by quote. For published prices and monthly billing, Fireflies, Otter, Fathom and Avoma have sales tiers. For reps who meet customers in person, ParrotNotes records from a phone with no bot, from $14.99 a month billed annually.
How much does Chorus cost?
ZoomInfo doesn't publish a price for Chorus. As of October 2026, its pricing page shows no dollar figures and says pricing depends on features, number of licenses and credit usage. You get a Chorus price from ZoomInfo's sales team.
Is Chorus still available?
Yes. ZoomInfo bought Chorus.ai in 2021 and sells it as Chorus by ZoomInfo, sometimes called ZoomInfo Chorus AI. The old chorus.ai site points to ZoomInfo's Chorus product page, which describes call, meeting and email capture with coaching, deal intelligence and market intelligence.
Can Chorus record in-person meetings?
ZoomInfo's Chorus product page doesn't mention a mobile app or in-person recording as of October 2026, and ZoomInfo's own buyer's guide says Chorus was built for inside sales. If your reps meet customers face to face, ask ZoomInfo directly, and compare tools with phone apps such as Fireflies, Otter, Avoma or ParrotNotes.
Can I cancel Chorus before my contract ends?
Check your order form. ZoomInfo's annual report says most subscriptions run for a one-year term, many renew automatically, and customers can opt out of automatic renewal. That describes ending at renewal, not mid-term. Note your notice deadline well before the renewal date and send notice in the way the contract specifies.
