One Pager Template
Fill in each section, watch the page build on the right and print it or save it as a PDF to leave behind after a visit or attach to your follow-up. Three layouts (sales, investor, project), three designs, your colour, US Letter or A4, and a warning if it runs past one page.
What goes on a sales one pager
A one pager is read in a minute, often by someone who was not in the meeting. Each section answers one question they will have.
Headline
The result the customer gets, in one line. "Same-day repairs and one invoice for every building" beats "Acme Service Platform".
The problem
Three pains, written the way the buyer described them. If they recognise their own words, they keep reading and they forward it.
Your solution
Two or three sentences on what you do about those pains. Save the feature list for the demo.
How it works
Three steps from first call to result. It shows the reader that starting is easy and what happens after they say yes.
Benefits with proof
Each benefit paired with a number or a fact: time saved, cost cut, a result from a named customer. Use only figures you can back up.
A customer quote
One short quote with a name and role, used with the customer's permission. It does more than a paragraph of claims.
Offer and next step
An optional starting price or package, then one clear call to action: a walkthrough, a trial, a call on a set date.
Contact
Your name, email and phone. A one pager gets printed and passed around, so it must work without the email it came in.
How to write a one pager in 20 minutes
Write it right after the discovery call, while the customer's words are fresh.
- Pick the layout: sales for a product or service, investor for a business summary, project for an internal proposal.
- Write the three problems first, in the customer's words from the call. Everything else follows from them.
- Write the headline last: the result that solves those problems, in one line.
- Fill in how it works and the benefits, with one proof point each. Leave out anything you cannot back up.
- Add one call to action and your contact details, pick the design and colour, and check the preview says it fits on one page.
- Print it or save it as a PDF, and attach it to the follow-up email the same day.
Three layouts: sales, investor and project
The sales one pager is the default: problem, solution, how it works, benefits with proof, a quote, the offer and the next step. Switch to investor and the benefits become traction, and you get sections for the market, the team and the ask. Switch to project and you get background, the proposed project, milestones, expected outcomes, budget and the decision you need. Your text stays when you switch, so you can try one and change your mind.
The three designs work with any layout. Classic is a clean header with an accent line; colour band puts the company and headline on a band of your colour; sidebar puts the offer, the call to action and the contact in a coloured column, which works well as a leave-behind. Text on the colour switches between white and near-black so it stays readable.
When to send a one pager
As a leave-behind after a site visit or a lunch meeting, so the person you met can brief their boss. As an attachment to the follow-up email after a discovery call, with the problems written the way the customer said them. At a trade show, instead of a brochure, with a call to action that books the next conversation. And before a big meeting, so a new stakeholder arrives knowing why you are there.
A one pager is not a proposal. It gets the next meeting; the proposal, with scope, timeline and price, comes after that meeting.
For sales reps: sales pitch examples, value-based selling, trade show follow-up email.
The best one pager uses the customer's own words.
The problem section works when it reads like the buyer said it. Record the discovery call with ParrotNotes and get the transcript and summary, so you can lift their problem, their numbers and their phrasing straight into the page. Free for 100 minutes of recording a month.
