How to dictate in Spanish

   Pick your Spanish

   Choose Spain, Mexico or United States above the Start button, press Start and allow the microphone when the browser asks.

   Speak Spanish

   Talk in full sentences with a short pause after each. Say "nueva línea" or "nuevo párrafo" where you want a break.

   Tidy, then copy

   Press Stop, add the ¿ ? and commas the browser missed, fix any accent, then copy the text or download it as a .txt file.

Tips for cleaner Spanish dictation

• Pick the closest Spanish

  If you speak with a Mexican or Central American accent choose Mexico; from Spain choose Spain. Try both on one sentence if unsure.

• Pause after each sentence

  The browser settles on text at pauses, so short sentences come out cleaner and are easier to fix.

• Say names slowly

  People's names and brand names are misheard most. Say them a little slower, then check the spelling.

• Stay in one language

  The browser listens for the language you picked. An English phrase in the middle of Spanish usually comes out wrong, so type it in after.
