Plaud Pricing: Device Cost, Plans and Transcription Minutes

Plaud pricing has two parts: the recorder, from $159 to $189, and a transcription plan. Every device includes the free Starter plan with 300 transcription minutes a month. Pro costs $17.99 a month or $99.99 a year for 1,200 minutes. Unlimited costs $29.99 a month or $239.99 a year. Every price here is in US dollars and was read on plaud.ai on November 8, 2026.

The device is a one-off cost. The plan is the part that keeps billing, and it's where most buyers overspend or run short.

Take Dana, a real estate agent in Austin (a composite, not a real person). She bought a Plaud Note for $159 and assumed the free plan would cover her.

By week three she'd used her 300 minutes on showings and listing calls. Her recorder still worked, but the transcripts stopped. She now had to pick between Pro, Unlimited and top-up packs, and Plaud's pages don't tell you which is cheapest for your minutes.

This guide does. You'll get every device price, every plan, the top-up packs, a table that shows which plan costs least at your monthly minutes, and a check of whether Plaud's bundles save anything.

One disclosure: ParrotNotes publishes this blog, and we make a phone app, not a recorder. If you'd rather test your phone before spending $159, try ParrotNotes free on your next meeting.

A small detail: the pricing page shows Pro as "$8.33 a month" and Unlimited as "$20.00 a month" billed yearly. The store charges $99.99 and $239.99 a year, a few cents more than 12 times those figures.

Plaud device prices

Plaud sells four recorders in the US store, plus one pre-order product.

Note Pro$189Yes, switches automaticallyUp to 30 hours (50 in Endurance mode)Same card shape

All four have 64GB of storage. The Note Pro adds four microphones and a pickup range of up to 16.4 feet, against 9.8 feet for the others. Our Plaud Note review and Plaud NotePin review cover the hardware in detail.

Plaud One is Plaud's earbud-style wearable. The store lists the Explorer Edition at $249.99, but it showed as unavailable on November 8, 2026, and the homepage offered a waitlist.

Accessories add up if you wear a NotePin. A spare magnetic case, lanyard or nylon wristband is $19.99 each. The silicone wristband and the clip with magnetic pin are $29.99 each. The NotePin Combo, which bundles the pin, clip, wristband, lanyard and charging dock, is $169.

Plaud pricing plans: Starter, Pro, Unlimited and Team

Every Plaud plan has the same features. Plaud's pricing FAQ says both paid plans "include the full Intelligence feature set". The only thing that changes between plans is minutes.

Plaud planMonthly billingYearly billingTranscription minutes
StarterFreeFree300 a month
Pro$17.99$99.99 a year1,200 a month
Unlimited$29.99$239.99 a yearUp to 24 hours a day
Team$28 per user (launch price to November 30, 2026, then $35)$20 per user a month for year one, then $25Up to 24 hours a day per seat

Every plan lists 112+ languages, more than 10,000 summary templates, custom templates, Plaud Desktop and export. Team adds shared files, central billing, seat and device management, and single sign-on.

Monthly or yearly Plaud subscription? Yearly wins by a wide margin. Pro paid monthly is $215.88 a year, more than twice the $99.99 yearly price. Unlimited paid monthly is $359.88 a year against $239.99. Pay monthly only for a month or two of trial.

If you subscribe through the App Store or Google Play, Plaud says changes and cancellations go through that store. If you cancel, your account drops back to Starter and your recordings stay.

What Plaud's transcription minutes mean in real meetings

Minutes are the unit Plaud sells, so it helps to turn them into meetings.

  • Starter, 300 minutes: 5 hours, or about ten 30-minute meetings a month.
  • Pro, 1,200 minutes: 20 hours, or about two 30-minute meetings every workday.
  • Unlimited: "up to 24 hours a day," which no single person will hit.

Two rules matter more than the numbers. Unused minutes don't roll over; they reset each billing month.

And when you run out, only transcription stops. Plaud's FAQ says recording, playback and cloud sync keep working, and transcription restarts when the month resets or you add minutes. So running out doesn't lose a recording. It just delays the transcript.

Plaud extra minutes: top-up packs and what they cost per hour

Plaud sells one-time minute packs, called Add-On Extensions in the store.

PackPriceCost per hour
600 minutes$12.99$1.30
3,000 minutes$59.99$1.20
6,000 minutes$99.99$1.00

The store page for each pack says it is valid for 24 months from activation and must be activated within 12 months of purchase. Your plan's monthly minutes are used first, then the pack.

For comparison, Pro on yearly billing works out at about $0.42 an hour if you use all 1,200 minutes every month. Packs cost more per hour, but they don't expire after a month. That makes them useful for light or uneven months.

Want to compare that with an app you already carry? ParrotNotes runs on your iPhone or Android phone, and its free plan needs no device.

Which Plaud plan is cheapest for your minutes?

This is the table Plaud doesn't publish. It shows the cheapest way to cover each monthly usage level for one year, using the store prices above. "Starter + packs" means the free plan topped up with the cheapest mix of packs. Device cost isn't included.

Worked out from plaud.ai store prices on November 8, 2026: Pro $99.99 a year, Unlimited $239.99 a year, packs $12.99 / $59.99 / $99.99 for 600 / 3,000 / 6,000 minutes.

Three breakpoints fall out of it:

  1. Up to 300 minutes a month, stay on Starter.
  2. From 300 to about 800 minutes, Starter plus top-up packs costs the same as Pro or less. If your months are uneven, packs also carry over for up to two years.
  3. From about 800 to about 1,850 minutes, Pro is cheapest. Past roughly 1,850 minutes (about 31 hours) a month, Unlimited wins.

Back to Dana. She records about 600 minutes a month.

On Starter plus packs, her year costs $72.98 in minutes. Pro would be $99.99. Unlimited would be $239.99, more than three times her cheapest option.

Now take Priya, a sales engineer in Ohio (also a composite). She records site walks and customer calls, about 2,000 minutes a month.

Pro plus packs would cost her $272.96 a year. Unlimited costs $239.99 and removes the counting. For her, Unlimited is the cheaper plan, not the luxury one.

Do Plaud bundles save money?

The store sells each device with a year of Pro or Unlimited. We checked every bundle against buying the device and the plan separately on the same day.

BundleBundle priceBought separatelySaving
Note + yearly Pro$248.99$258.99$10
Note + yearly Unlimited$388.99$398.99$10
NotePin (Cosmic Gray) + yearly Pro$248.99$258.99$10
NotePin (Cosmic Gray) + yearly Unlimited$388.99$398.99$10
Note Pro + yearly Pro$288.99$288.99$0
Note Pro + yearly Unlimited$428.99$428.99$0
NotePin S + yearly Pro$278.99$278.99$0
NotePin S + yearly Unlimited$418.99$418.99$0
Note Pro + NotePin S$368.00$368.00$0

Only the Note and the Cosmic Gray NotePin bundles save anything, and it's $10. The other NotePin colours cost the same as buying separately. So pick the plan for your minutes first, using the table above. Then buy the bundle only if it matches that plan.

What a Plaud costs over one and two years

If you need more than this, our Plaud vs Otter comparison sets these costs against an app-only subscription.

A phone-only alternative with a free plan

If you mostly record in-person meetings, you may not need a recorder at all. The phone in your pocket has microphones, storage and a battery already. An app like ParrotNotes records on iPhone and Android, then transcribes and summarizes.

Here's what each ParrotNotes plan includes, from our pricing page on November 8, 2026:

  • Free, $0: 100 minutes of recording a month (up to 30 minutes per recording), an AI summary on every recording, and 5 AI-powered recordings a month with action items. No device and no credit card.
  • Pro, $19.99 a month or $14.99 a month billed yearly ($179.88 a year): 3,000 minutes a month (50 hours), up to 3 hours per recording, all AI features, and transcription in 99+ languages with translation.

Over two years, ParrotNotes Pro costs $359.76 with no device. A Plaud Note with Pro costs $358.98 for 1,200 minutes a month. If you need more than 1,200 minutes, the Note with Unlimited costs $638.98.

Be honest about the trade, though. A Plaud recorder runs for days, sits on the table without tying up your phone, and the Note models record phone calls. ParrotNotes uses your phone's battery and is built for in-person meetings, not call recording. For more phone apps with free plans, see our Plaud Note alternatives.

Recording calls with a Plaud Note: ask first

The Note and Note Pro can record phone calls. Whether you may record a call depends on where you and the other person are. Some US states need everyone's consent.

Our guide to one-party consent states explains the rules. It's general information, not legal advice. The simple habit is to say you're recording at the start, and never record anyone secretly.

The bottom line on Plaud pricing

Plaud pricing is simple on the device side and easy to get wrong on the plan side. Here's what to remember:

  • The device is $159 to $189, and it includes 300 free minutes a month.
  • Pay yearly. Monthly billing costs about twice as much.
  • Between 300 and 800 minutes a month, top-up packs beat Pro.
  • Past about 1,850 minutes a month, Unlimited is the cheapest plan.
  • Bundles save $10 at most, so choose the plan before the bundle.

Count your recorded minutes for one normal month before you pick a plan. If most of them are in-person meetings, try your phone first: ParrotNotes is free to download on iPhone and Android.
